Blood Tests

Some basic blood work that you need to get done are:

Ferritin Levels : If below 50, you need to begin supplementation.

 

B12 Levels: ideally above 500

 

CRP- to rule out any inflammation in the body

 

PCOS- to get your levels of Estrogen checked

 

ANA ( anti nuclear anti bodies) – is a test for autoimmunity. High levels get manifested as Hair Fall

 

 

 Super Foods for Preventing Hair Fall

Rajgira/ Amaranth– Rich in Amino Acid that accelerates Hair Growth, gives it shine and strength. You can  include it in the diet as Ragjra Porridge for breakfast or Rajgira Ladoo as a mid meal snack

Dry Coconut-With essential fatty acids, adds lustre to hair. It also prevents split end and moisturizes the scalp, keeping dandruff away. Dry coconut is a great mid meal  snack, especially post lunch. Have a 2-3 inch piece with jaggery, or roll it into a  energy ball with ghee, jaggery and coconut. It also serves as a great garnish over foods or dals

Garden Cress Seeds– High in iron, nourishes Hair and prevents hair loss. The ideal way to use Adiv seeds is to soak a pinch of then for 8-10 hours in some water.     This can be added to a cup of milk or   chaas. This will ensure  better assimilation of   all  micro nutrients for  great  iron absorption.

Bajra-  A  winter staple millet is  a great source of  Iron. Not only does it  keeps the body warm in winters, there by assisting our Thyroid  Hormone in regulating   optimum metabolism  but also helps  build our iron stores.  Don’t miss out on this millet this  season. It renders itself to a variety of  recipes. You can make a regular bajra roti  and have with ghee or jaggery,   make Bajra Khichadi  or even  Sweet Bajra Mathris   , just the perfect guilt free  snack to   sweeten your tea time 

Hair Care Tips: 

  1. Wash your hair often to prevent build up of oil or sweat
  2. Get them trimmed every two months
  3. Use natural chemical free products
  4. Don’t Blow dry too often
